Chemistry Faculty Position Open
Assistant Professor in Analytical Chemistry
The Forensic Science Program (www.forensicscience.eku.edu) in the Department of Chemistry (www.chemistry.eku.edu) at Eastern Kentucky University is seeking applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of Analytical Chemistry with appointment to begin August 15, 2018.
Major teaching responsibilities will be in the area of analytical toxicology with an associated lab and supporting general and analytical chemistry courses (including instrumental analysis). Candidates for the position must have a Ph.D. degree in Analytical Chemistry or a related field, and a commitment to excellence in teaching, service and scholarly activity. Preference will be given to candidates with teaching or professional experience in analytical toxicology methodologies involving the detection and quantitative analysis of analytes in biological matrices.
Additional priority will be given to individuals versed in the theory and operation of liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) instrumentation and validation of LC/MS/MS methods. Research expectations include the establishment of an independent research program commensurate with a master-level institution.
